Rook Field. Ox Pasture. Cold Furlong. Somebody worked this valley for forty years before you, and this morning she hands it over. Havenbrook is a farm you build one field at a time and keep for good.

“So you came. Good. I farmed this valley for forty years and my arms have had enough of it, so it is yours now. Let me show you a few things.”
Her first line in the game. She walks you through the first morning, then leaves you to it.
The farm is a five by eight grid, and you start with the farmhouse and the three fields beside it. The other thirty-one are fields you claim one at a time, each a little dearer than the last. The bottom row is road frontage, where the Mill, the Bakery and the rest of the roadway go.
Where the farmhouse stands. Every square wears its name. Pick a grass one to claim it.
Every square comes with the name somebody gave it long before you got here. You only get to decide what grows on it.

Over 40 crops, Common up to Mythic. The quick ones pay you for checking in. The slow ones pay you for going to bed.

Cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and ducks. Buy a pair at the market, keep the trough full, and breed the best two you have.

DuckDuck eggsAnimals come in five rarities at the livestock market, and a sixth, the Emberdown, you can only breed. The rarer the breed, the more it makes.

What each breed makes, against a Farmyard animal of the same kind. From the game's own balance table. In the game every breed wears the same coat, so you read the card, not the cow.
Nine roadway buildings along the front of the farm. Sell your wheat as it comes, or mill it into flour, bake the flour into bread, and sell the bread instead.

A table by the road. It sells your surplus while you are away.

More room on the order board, and orders that come back sooner.

Grain in, flour out. Worth more than what went in.

Milk in, butter and cheese out.

Grain into feed. Fed animals make more.

Flour, butter and heat. The road pays well for bread.

Fruit and vegetables that keep. Worth more in a jar.

Sunflowers for oil, grapes for juice.

Wool or cotton, spun into cloth. A bolt is worth more than a bale.

Orders come in off the road with a name, a list and a clock on them. Two to four lines each, due in anywhere from four hours to a day. Four sit on the board at once, more with a Loading Dock, and filling three inside a day earns a bonus on top.

The seasons run on the calendar, so the same six come back every year. Each one changes the light, the sky and the colors of the whole farm, and brings an animal you cannot get anywhere else.
Stubble fields, ember dusk, and everything in at once.

Roots up half an acre in a night and looks pleased about it come morning.
Crops ripen and animals keep producing with the app closed, and the Farmers Stand keeps selling. Come back after a day or a week to a full harvest waiting.
Havenbrook is free. Gems finish a wait early, open crates and buy the season pass. Everything in the game is reachable without them, and a crate shows its chances before you open it.
